Like so many decades before, a group of volunteers gathered in the Parkes Uniting Church hall on Wednesday, December 16 to bundle mountains of gifts generously donated by the community.
Volunteer and organiser Joan Mill said they were able to help 219 children from 110 families this year, which is on par with last year.
"We've had another good response," she said.
Even with the departure of the Parkes Target store - that up until this year had a Christmas Giving Tree in partnership with UnitingCare Australia - Parkes residents supported the appeal.
Once the gifts were arranged, they were delivered to the agencies that support families in need on the same day.
Even though the gifts have been delivered, Joan said people who still wish to donate to the appeal can do so by taking their gifts to Vinnies in Welcome Street or Georgie's Boutique in Clarinda Street.
