Dubbo got off to a great start scoring within the first five minutes before Parkes gained possession and Grace Milne scored in the corner soon after.
Alana Folou had some great runs up the sideline while forwards Joan Carolan and Meg Mahon did some great tagging and had strong runs up the middle but were tagged by the strong South Dubbo defence before they could score.
McKenzie Duff, Hayley Arrow and Jemima Grosvenor were consistent, tagging all game while Chloe Magill and Bill Mahon made some good runs.
Alana Finnegan and Laylah Logan continued the good runs before Grace Milne scored again, taking the half time score to 12-all.
It was a very close game but unfortunately in the second half Parkes started to struggle in defence with the Raidettes putting on a few tries.
Though the win was a step too far, Grace MacGregor did an awesome run through Dubbo and scored Parkes' third try before Nell Smith added her own try in the final two minutes.
The final score was 26-16 and despite the result it was a great game by the girls.
Jorja Simpson and Deanne Hanson are very proud of their team for their efforts and making the grand final. Congratulations on the season team!
Under 12 Blues
The Central West Fluid Power under 12 Blues made the trip to Dubbo on Saturday to take on St John Gold in the grand finals at the glorious Apex Oval with the side unfortunately going down by 14 points.
The side got off to the perfect start, winning the ball back from the kickoff and setting themselves up in great field position. A quick hit-up had Oakley Fleidner crossing the line out wide for the first try of the game.
St Johns attack was fast, well drilled and they showed why they were minor premiers with an impressive try on the fifth tackle, taking the score to 6-4.
Harry Turner was doing some fantastic tackling up against the big St Johns forwards while Jaylen Kelly was directing the Blues well and doing his best to break the line. Hitting the ball up was Ryan Cox, Caleb Gould and Ryan Whitney but Dubbo had other plans and hit back midway through the first half with another try.
Parkes looked dangerous every time the ball was moving wide and the plan was to keep spreading it through the hands with Linc James and Hamish McGrath but St Johns Gold kept the pressure on right up until half time. With under a minute to go they scored again taking the score at half time to 16-4 in favour of St Johns.
With Jaylin Moran now directing the Blues around and he was exciting to watch with the help of the hard running Kailen Butt, Kallum Munday and Riley Fernando but Dubbo's defence was extremely effective in slowing down the play. Their attack was superb in finding the hole in the line, and they were over the line again 10 minutes into the second half.
As it has been all year, the Blues attitude was never deflated and with their heads up, they went back to the job at hand and started to grind away. George Thomas was forcing the St Johns attack to rethink with his strong defending and it didn't take long for the Blues to see the rewards of their efforts with a fast Oakley Fleidner showing why he is the top try scorer in the competition.
He crossed over the try line and a successful conversion from Lachlan Thomas took the score to 24-10, with St Johns proving too good as they won the premiership.
The Blues gave their all right to the end of the game and were unlucky not to get any more points but St Johns Gold were well deserved winners on the day.
A special thanks to Luke Fleidner for his help on game day and at training. To all the parents and carers, the team thank you for your constant support and encouragement and lastly to the Blues, you are all little legends thanks for a great year. I'd be proud to coach you all again anytime. Thanks boys and lady!
