"As the warmer weather approaches, we are excited that the pools are re-opening, however please expect some changes and strict guidelines to be put in place as a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic," Parkes Shire Mayor Ken Keith OAM said.
"We ask that our community and visitors please respect these changes as staff are doing their best to keep the facility a safe place for everyone to enjoy."
These changes Parkes Shire Councill will enforce include:
From Monday to Friday the Parkes Pool will be closed to the public between 1pm-3pm for cleaning sanitisation in line with COVID-19 government regulations.
All visitors will be required to fill out a covid registration form upon entry.
Physical distancing measures including restrictions in change rooms and the number of swimmers per lane will be in place.
Throughout the school term, the general public will not be permitted to access the pool when school swimming lessons are taking place.
Cr Keith said a weekly timetable and 'what's on' will be available to ensure the community can stay up-to-date with changed access hours.
The Learn to Swim program will be commencing from October 26 with registrations now open via forms available from Parkes Shire Council's website.
Season tickets for the coming 2020-21 season can be purchased from the Parkes Pool kiosk which will be open from Wednesday, September 30 to Friday, October 2 from 12noon to 6pm.
"Admission into the Peak Hill, Trundle and Tullamore swimming pools will be free for the enjoyment of residents and visitors," Cr Keith said.
This will be the third consecutive summer council has been able to provide free entry into the facilities to benefit village residents.
"Parkes Shire township pools are expected to open in November 2020 for the 2020-21 swimming season," Cr Keith said.
"More details and confirmed dates will be decided at our next council meeting."
