Isabel Dawn Orange sadly passed away two days before her 95th birthday. She was a well-known woman in Parkes, greatly respected and loved by all.
Isabel was married to Bert (dec), had four children, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
I first met Isabel in the early 90s when I joined Parkes Quota Club.
Isabel was a very active member of the club and was always involved in all activities, including modelling for fashion parades, cooking for functions, selling raffle tickets and serving on many Quota committees. She attended our meetings right up to a week before she died.
She was always the first one to visit people if they were not well or if they needed company.
Isabel joined the Parkes Bridge Club in the late 90s, where she served as president for a couple of years and served on the committee for years later.
Isabel and I became bridge partners for the next 20 years.
During that time we never had an argument or spoke disrespectfully to each other (believe me I have seen this happen many times between partners).
Isabel's contribution to decision-making and policies for our club was invaluable. She always encouraged our new members and never had a bad word to say about anybody.
Isabel was also an active member of Lachlan National Trust and attended all business meetings, and loved the trips away.
Isabel was well-known for her sense of fashion and always looked immaculate everywhere she went.
She continued to live alone in her lovely house in Parkes right up to the time of her passing, she always loved being visited by all her family and friends.
Isabel will be missed so much, but will always be remembered as an elegant, kind and loving lady.
