Chris is a regular artist performing in the area with both guitar and keyboard in his repertoire, and is no stranger to the Parkes members and visitors.
Walk-up artists are most welcome to join in on the day. Names down with the music co-ordinators on your early arrival. Performers usually need to have two to four songs of any genre prepared.
As it's close to St Patrick's Day there may be a touch of green around and a little bit of the Irish in the air.
Our February muster was a great success with 13 walk-ups including six performers and supporters from Dubbo, four performers from Forbes (welcome to Grace Little as a first-time performer here) and from Parkes contingent Lindy Charlton.
It was lovely to see Elisa Massari join us again with her beautiful voice, and another newcomer Warren Van Akker, who along with Elisa, we'll claim as Parkes performers and hope they continue to be regulars at our musters.
Barry Green was our featured artist for February, and wow, what a performance he treated us all to. Thanks again Barry, he is the ultimate performer.
For an added treat in the second half of the program, we welcomed back Keith Noakes on mouth organ, accompanying Grace Little to a performance of Silver Threads and Golden Needles. Then we kept him on stage for the rest of the afternoon.
In other happenings we would like to report that our inter visit with the South Coast Country Music Club was a great success.
Parkes and Forbes members travelled to Wollongong Country Music Club two weekends ago and had a great trip.
Starting at Albion Park Bowling Club at 3pm we listened to excellent singing by the 15 competitors, which included four from our club.
Barry Green with keyboard and singing, Robert Hoswell singing and playing the mouth organ, Joy Rice and Lindy Charlton.
On Sunday we travelled to Mount Kembla where the South Coast Club have their own hall.
The morning was taken up with music and singing. After a delicious lunch, it continued again until we had to leave at 3pm. A great weekend was had by all.
