But this year behind all the hip-swivelling, rocking and rolling on Pioneer Oval that is the annual Elvis rugby union match, was a heart-felt cause.
The footy players joined The Railway Hotel's bush fire fundraising efforts for the Rural Fire Service and WIRES, and circulated a donation bucket around the grounds.
The crowd opened their wallets and gave generously to the appeal.
Blue Suede Shoes captain Chris Summerhayes said many fines were also handed out to players which added to the final figure.
A massive $3160 was raised during the game, and the boys personally delivered the money themselves to Railway Hotel owners Kasie Ferguson and Bianca Sheridan.
Visitors and locals gathered at Pioneer Oval at 6.30pm, many taking a seat in the grandstand while others sat on the hill or beside their vehicles, to watch the sixth Elvis rugby union match, which involves many Parkes Boars Rugby Union Club players.
As has been the tradition for the last couple of years, the Blue Suede Shoes challenged their Reddy Teddy opponents with an Elvis-inspired cheeky play on words prior to kick-off.
The game ended in a 15-all draw, with players thanking each other and the crowd for their attendance.
