Bowler Of The Year
The Committee decided that this year the Award would be given as a joint award to the team that were runners up in the State Presidents Cup for 2019. It was quite an achievement to make it to the finals but to finish Runners-up was a great result.
Winners: Gary McPhee, Col Mudie, Dave "Major" Johnson and Rob Irving
Appreciation Award (donated by A. Summers)
Awarded to Maureen Stone
This award was given to Maureen in appreciation of the time she spends at the club helping out in so many different ways. She is always ready to help out behind the bar, running raffles, manning the phones, renewing memberships and helping out in any way she is needed.
As Gary McPhee pointed out in his address, the Club had a very successful year both on and off the green. The Club was represented in a number of District, Zone and State Championships throughout the year and all Carnivals and Tournaments and all social events were well supported by the members.
Gary also thanked the various members who volunteer time and effort in maintaining the greens and grounds of the Club, ably lead by Brett Frame, Greg Howlett and Mark Dwyer.
Gary also mentioned that next year is the centenary of the formation of the club and the start of Bowls in Parkes. A number of events are being planned but all suggestions will be welcomed.
Congratulations again to all our Award recipients, thanks to the committee and their helpers for another great year of Bowls and we look forward to another good one in 2020.
Hope you all have a good Christmas and that the new year is all you hope for.
