They're encouraging all Parkes Shire farmers, small businesses and their families to come along to the Parkes Bowling and Sports Club in Cecile Street next month for an afternoon of fellowship and fun.
The party will take place on Sunday, December 15 and will run from 4pm until about 8pm.
And there's plenty of fun activities planned for the afternoon for the whole family.
With a children's play area already installed at the club premises, there will also be a jumping castle and an organised game of futsal.
There will be a game of bowls for those interested that will begin at 4pm and bowls will be supplied on the day.
All this will be followed by a free sit-down barbecue meal, taking place about 7pm, generously provided by members of the church.
"This is a free event organised by the Parkes Uniting Church Currajong/Cookamidgera congregation," organiser John Carr said.
"We're encouraging everyone to attend.
"The entire family is welcome to come."
John said the church wanted to reach out to the community and do something particularly for those who have been hit hard by the drought, be it on the land or in business.
They decided on this community Christmas party and barbecue.
"We wanted to make sure there were activities there for the kids too because the kids are just as important," he said.
"We look forward to seeing you there."
For catering purposes, people who are interested in attending are asked to RSVP by December 11, either on email, ucparkes@bigpond.com or by phoning John on 6862 5526, Graham Lancaster on 0439 040 327 or Julie Green on 0419 725 462.
