Love him or loathe him, Kev is a household name, not just in Australia but around the world.
And it's not only die hard fans of the veteran comedian who love his Australian humor, he is building a new, much younger following.
"There is a particular app called Tik Tok and the kids on it are aged from 14 to 26," Kev said.
"They've picked up on a song of mine called DILLIGAF (Does It Look Like I Give A F**k) and they lip sync it on a short video.
"It reached number one on Tik Tok and there were 24 million views on this thing over two weeks - that's the population of Australia.
"They are figures that you can't even dream of, it's unbelievable.
"My granddaughters who live in Chicago have been with us on their summer break and they said 'Pop, you are really popular in America right now'," he laughed.
Kev's daughter, comedy singer-songwriter Jenny Talia from Australia will be supporting her dad on the tour.
"Jen's actually based in Chicago and she is joining us for this outback trip," Kev said.
"I've got to say without patronising you in anyway, I love the bush.
"It's lovely to play places like the London Palladium and the Sydney Opera House, but to me it's equally as important we get to the bush.
"And the current climate is not pleasant so wouldn't it be nice if we could all enjoy a laugh together?"
And laugh we will. Especially at Kev's latest offering What's Donald Gonna Do Today?, which asks the question on everybody's lips.
The Aussie larrikin admits he checks Donald Trump's twitter feed every morning.
"There is always humor in it," he said.
"There is so much grist to the mill, I just look up Donald and that provides me my daily laugh over coffee."
Kev said the song is gaining momentum and creating its own footprint in America.
"We plan to go over there mid next year so by then we'll have a real good reckoning on what it's all about," he said.
All the pomp and humor aside, Kev lives by his philosophies is grateful for the life he leads.
"Life has been very good to us," he said.
"I do it for the love of what I do and I've never been dollar driven on what we do. I simply love it because I am passionate about it.
"I'm one of the few lucky ones in the world that gets to pursue my hobbies for a living. And the fact that I make enough to put bread on the table, well that's a bonus."
You can catch Kev's show at the Leagues Club on Saturday evening.
