Hello Bowlers, last Thursday we had one championship game played of major pairs.
Graham Cole and Graham Thomson versus Dougie Miller and Luke Ramsay. Luke and Dougie too strong on the day winning 29-13.
Saturday, July 6 there were 18 bowlers for social bowls. Winners were Col Boehm and Allan Curteis W 17+13, runners up Maria Willcockson, Terry Clothier and Luke Cross W 16+12.
Wednesday, July 10,16 players attended on a cold windy day.
Winners John Monti and Marty Fitzpatrick W 18+15, runners up Rob Clegg and John Corcoran W 18+11. Margins were 1,11,12, and 15. Marble eight came out so it jackpots to next week.
A game of Minor singles saw Terry Clothier versus Gene Rapp. Gene having the better of the day winning 31-15.
Triples to be played by July 21 are Geoff Leonard versus Graham Thomson, Tony Latter versus John Corcoran and Mike Phillips versus Steve Frame. Play, get a sub or forfeit.
Tony Latters Presidents day will be held on July 14 with a 10am start , club colours to be worn. Membership dues are over due so please can you pay them ASAP.
The draw for handicapped pairs is on the board get your teams in, minimum total to be 11 or over.
Raffles, joker and members draw on Friday night with happy hour as well. So get on down the railway a have some fun with your mates.

Sunday, July 7 the Parkes Services Social Golfers played a Stableford Event for Ian Phipps's Trophy and Chris Goodies Raffle.
Winner on the day was Phil Winnenbom with a score of 41 points who received a six Shot Penalty on his handicap for his efforts. Runner Ups were Lyn Davison.Phil Smith and Phil Bishop.

Our Cuddly Bunny Award won by our President Reg who was possibly off his game when he realised his Golf Cart definitely requires Fuel to keep going forward.

Last weekend we saw nine shooters attend the Deep Lead shooting complex. They shot at Buffalo targets at both 25 and 50 metres for a maximum of 520 points.

Our next shoot is at 1pm Sunday, July 14 and will be ordinary targets at both ranges. We tried the new electronic recording attendances again on the weekend and after the information is entered it was a simple as a tap and go card as the info does not have to be entered again.
Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks. It does use up a lot of paper in the form of a5 paper, which is a sheer waste.

Duck Creek Picnic Races. Gadfly established a weight carrying record for the race when beating a good field in the Win Television Duck Creek Picnic Cup at Nyngan on Saturday.
Austin and Zaphod were the leaders in the 1250 metres Cup with Gadfly settling fourth in the eight horse field.Despite the hefty weight, Gadfly ( $6.50 ) took control to win by almost two lengths from Blue Channel ( Caitlin King, $3.50 ) and Austin ( Maddison Wright, $4.60 ) with Rehanaat ( $3.20 favourite ) the winner of the 2017 and 2018 Duck Creek Picnic Cups, finishing fourth.
First leg of a winning double for Angela Taylor was the Wayne Marsden, Menindee trained Late Return ( $4 ) which raced outside the leader before beating Pullman Brown ( Maddison Wright, $3.60 equal fav.) and Madison Gardens ( Steven Kehoe, $ 3.60 equal fav.) in the 900 metres Class 2 Handicap.
Ashley Boyd also had a winning double, Lenroy ( $3.20 ) for Bourke trainer James Hatch and Maria Elisa ( $4 ) from the Sharon Jeffries stable at Parkes.Slowly away, Lenroy rounded up the field to impressively win the Maiden Plate ( 900 metres ) from Bel Twista ( Maddison Wright, $1.90 fav.) and Small Dream ( Michael Wade, $7 ) while from fifth on the turn Maria Elisa made a strong, wide run to account for Vonnida ( Tim Grace, $4 ) and Three Rar ( Angela Taylor, $5 ) in the 900 metres Open Handicap.
This was the fourth win from six starts for Maria Elisa since being trained by Sharon Jeffries.
Forbes trainer Wendy Baker and Hawkesbury based jockey Michael Wade combined to win the Class B Handicap ( 1250 metres ) with Getting Ready ( $4 ) which tracked the leaders before racing to a one and a half lengths win over On A Promise ( Ashley Boyd, $3 ) and Work And Chat ( $2.50 fav).
More Ransom led for a while in the Class B Handicap ( 1250 metres ) but was no match for the recent Coonamble TAB winner Tapanui.Ridden by Maddison Wright for Nyngan trainer Rodney Robb, Tapanui ( $1.40 fav ) won by over eight lengths from More Ransom ( Alan Barton, $2.60 ) and Queen Majesty ( Tim Grace, $4.20 ).
