Gold miner and multi-commodity explorer Alkane Resources has found a 2500-metre-long strike of gold mineralisation within eight kilometres of its Tomingley Gold Operations in the 'Tomingley Gold Corridor'.

In April the company's managing director Nic Earner announced that exploration results from the corridor's Roswell and San Antonio prospects were the "most significant ... in the Tomingley region since the initial discoveries by Alkane over 10 years ago".
"These results are reminiscent of the discovery holes of the deposits that then became our Tomingley Gold Operations," he said.

The managing director said the prospects "may actually join together".
Last week, a company spokeswoman revealed significant gold mineralisation had been found between the prospects which "now shows a combined strike length of 1600 metres of gold mineralisation" within four kilometres of the TGO.
"Together with the El Paso prospect there is a cumulative strike length of 2500 metres of gold mineralisation within eight kilometres of TGO," she said.
Alkane Resources has been exploring in the region in a bid to find ore to feed into the processing plant at TGO where open-pit mining has made way for underground mining.
The company is spending about $6 million on a drilling program to determine if the gold mineralisation at Roswell, San Antonio and El Paso prospects warrant the launch of open-pit or underground mining.
"Before the end of July we will be making a further statement about the size and potential of this and what we are chasing," Mr Earner said on Thursday.
