Trevor Rowney owns this original 1960 Hillman Minx Series 3.
He happily admits that it's not the prettiest car to look at and that it's showing all the signs of age but it's been with him for over 30 years and it's done it's fair share of work along the way.
Trevor bought the Minx back in 1985. He told me that he wasn't really a Hillman fanatic, he just enjoys messing around with old cars.
He heard about this car and a later model Hillman for sale as a job lot so for $500 he had them both.
The Minx hadn't been moved for years but with a battery, some fresh fuel and some priming, Trevor drove it onto the trailer for its trip home to Parkes. And so began a passion for Hillmans.
The Hillman is a British Marque with its origins in Coventry.
Ironically, Coventry is the sister city to Parkes, the link being Henry Parkes who was born in Coventry.

Some may even say that with his full-face beard, Trevor may well bear a resemblance to Sir Henry, but that's as close as the link goes!
"The Minx only had 38,000 miles on the clock when I got it," Trevor said.
"It was originally sold new by Mick Miller Motors here in Parkes and was essentially a one-owner vehicle when I bought it."
After a bit of a clean up and getting it running again in 1985, Trevor enjoyed several car rallies with the Hillman Owners Club in Sydney, including a Tasmania tour.
"The Tassie trip was in August so it was a pretty cold drive from here to Melbourne," Trevor said.
After a number of years of use Trevor parked the Hillman up and it sat for 15-20 years before getting inspired to put it back on the road.
"I did up the brakes and bearings and had some new tyres fitted, and it's become my pride and joy again," Trevor said.
Trevor has also joined the Central West Car Club to enjoy the benefits of historic car registration and some more car runs.
For those with an interest in Hillmans, the Hillman Owners Club of Australia will be making a visit to Parkes next week.
On Tuesday, May 28, they'll be at the Parkes Visitors Centre between 2.30pm and 3pm so feel welcome to get up there for a look at some interesting vehicles, including Trevor's 1960 Minx.
