Parkes piled on the points, Nyngan downed the defending premiers, and plenty of other sides showed improvement in a hugely entertaining first round of the 2019 Group 11 season.

There's plenty to like about the competition already with a number of eye-catching displays put forward in the first weekend of the season.
Each week these power rankings will show who's shining brightest in what is sure to be a hotly contested Group 11 title race.
Here's the rankings for week one:
1. Parkes Spacemen
Yes, they were playing a Westside team dogged by crisis after crisis in the off-season but as the saying goes, you can only play what's in front of you.
The Spacemen ran in 86 points in 60 minutes against the battling Bunnies, a staggering effort made even more impressive given poor handling and errors ruined a number of chances. It's clear the Spacemen are going to have points in them this season. Chad Porter entered this season as one of the premier halves in western and his 38-point haul on Sunday only enhances that standing.
The Spacies' defence also held firm the few times Westside did maintain possession.
If the game had gone on the Spacemen were on track to score more than 110 points. No-one else can be number one after the first round.

2. Nyngan Tigers
Good without being anything amazing whatsoever, the Tigers still started the season with victory at the home of the defending premiers. You can't ask for much more than that.
There's plenty of improvement in Justin Carney's new-look Nyngan and they were without a handful of players for the round one match. Despite that, they held off an equally scrappy Forbes side on Sunday and, most importantly, only let the Magpies score 10 points.
There's so much attacking talent within the team as well and don't be surprised to see them piling on a big score sometime soon. Westside is the unfortunate side which has to make the first trip to Larkin Oval in 2019.
Definitely a side to watch in the coming weeks.
3. Dubbo CYMS
Much like Nyngan, got the job done without being at its best.
There's no doubt the Fishies are going to be right there again this season but it's also clear captain-coach Jarryn Powyer still has some things to work out within the new-look side.
CYMS was oddly panicky at times but it's also understandable given there's new players in key positions.
The defensive effort was immense, particularly in the second half, and if any side is to beat CYMS this season they're still really going to have to earn it.

4. Wellington Cowboys
Not winners, but hugely promising showing from the Cowboys in round one.
The biggest thing was Wellington went the entire 80 minutes with Dubbo CYMS and looked like a side which knew they could beat the Fishies. Belief is a massive thing in rugby league and clearly it's there within the Cowboys in 2019.
Knocks to Mason Williams and fullback Josh Griffiths also hampered the Cowboys but in the end only two points separated them and CYMS.
This side really needs time to gel but the early signs are exciting.
5. Macquarie Raiders
As good and as tough as the Narromine Jets were on Sunday, the Raiders will look back on round one as one that got away.
The Raiders bombed countless chances and had two tries ruled out in the first half for forward passes alone.
Captain-coach Wes Middleton said his side needs to focus on execution and that was clear. Fix that up and tighten some defensive issues and there's every reason for Macquarie fans to be optimistic.
It will be easier said than done though, with inconsistency something plaguing the Raiders in recent years.

6. Narromine Jets
One hell of a gutsy performance from the Jets on Sunday. Every time Macquarie took the lead at Cale Oval the Jets hit back.
The Jets are a different proposition this season and while they didn't get the win on Sunday they'll take a huge amount of the game. The forward pack was tough and Tony Clevin provided a real spark as Dylan Hill's men showed they'll definitely be competitive in 2019.
Errors at key times hurt them over and over on Sunday and they won't be able to afford that next weekend when they meet CYMS.
7. Forbes Magpies
Must be said this is a staggeringly low place for the Magpies to start on the list. Simply, if they hold on to the ball they'll be rocketing up the rankings in no time.
Shouldn't take long for that to happen, either. Coach Cameron Greenhalgh won't allow his side to be too sloppy for long.
Forbes matched Nyngan for long periods on Sunday but continually shot themselves in the foot. That's all you need to know.
Forbes is never the fastest starter in Group 11 and, like everyone else, it's a new-look side that's going to take some time to gel. But there's too much talent in this side for it not be moving up the ladder sooner rather than later. A win at Macquarie next weekend would be a nice way to get the ball rolling.

8. Dubbo Westside
When coach and board members said the focus was already on 2020 this season was always going to be a battle for Westside.
The Rabbitohs weren't in the same class as Parkes on Sunday and the full-time whistle was blown 20 minutes early with the score at 86-0.
The score isn't the issue for Westside. Just two years ago they beaten 104-0 by CYMS in the opening round and while they didn't win a game that season they did improve as the year went on. The non-stop effort on Sunday showed ongoing improvement can happen again.
The worry is the amount of players who had to play both reserve grade and first grade. Depth is the biggest problem at the club and that will need to be addressed in the coming weeks.
