He's finally achieved his dream.
Ross Cabban from the Central West Car Club admits that he's always been a Ford fanatic and after yearning for an XY/XW for years he's finally achieved his dream.

"I'd been looking for an XY Falcon for about 14 months and they were really hard to come across" said Rosco, "but when this car came up it was too good to let it pass by.
It's an XW which is the earlier model but it had a clean body and was really straight underneath so I snapped it up."
Rosco's car is a 1970 XW Ford Fairmont that's been modified with a few GS and GT features.
It's got a 351 Windsor V8 under the hood with a 'shaker' scoop poking through the middle of an XY bonnet and has an automatic transmission.
There's Fairmont badging, GS side stripes and GT front and rear spoilers.
The interior is all Fairmont with burgundy trim, a dash full of gauges and even air conditioning.
Rosco bought the XW about three and a half years ago from a "Cash for Cars" dealer in Sydney.
There are not much history behind it but it seems the previous owner was part way through a minor restoration when he passed away and the dealer picked it up.
The only hint to its origins is the Jack Brabham Ford, Bankstown sticker on the rear window suggesting that it's always been a Sydney car.
Rosco had no intentions of doing a complete GT replica but was happy to tidy up the "Fairmont Modified" look of his newly acquired XW.
"I had Scott Page repaint it for me. It's actually a Volvo white" laughed Rosco "because I wanted something just a bit brighter than the Ford colour.
There are a few more things to finish it off like decals on the stripes and a set of Bathurst Globes soon, but otherwise the look is almost complete."
As I'd mentioned, Ross is a dedicated Ford owner having sold his previously restored Escort before the XW. He reckons that he's only ever owned one Holden in his life.
"It was an HQ work ute which I only kept for a few months before trading it on a Datsun of all things, but since then it's been all Fords" he chuckled.
