Positive drug driving result for Parkes man, 31

A 31-year-old Parkes man was caught driving while disqualified and with a cancelled registration on Thursday afternoon.

Police stopped the man in Bushman Street at 2.10pm.

A roadside breath test returned a negative result, however a drug test returned a positive result for cannabis and methamphetamine.

Police will await the results of a further drug test before taking any action.

The man will face Parkes Local Court on Monday, May 6, on the driving charges.

A 21-year-old Forbes man was taken to hospital after he allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his vehicle early on Friday morning.

Police were called to the scene of the accident at 5.10am, 25 kilometres north of Parkes on the Renshaw McGirr Way.

Officers found the man walking along the road, barefoot and in shock.

Investigations are continuing.

A 21-year-old Parkes man was charged with offensive language after an interaction with police on Friday night.

The incident happened in Welcome Street at 7pm.

He will appear before Parkes Local Court at a later date.

A 17-year-old Parkes male was identified as the driver of a vehicle who clipped a parked car in Clarinda Street at 12.50pm on Saturday.

The male failed to stop after he knocked the bumper bar off the parked vehicle.

He was issued with an infringement notice for failing to exchange particulars.

A 38-year-old Parkes man was charged with goods in custody and cultivate prohibited plant after he tried to sell stolen property on Facebook on Saturday.

He will appear in Parkes Local Court on June 3.

Unknown offenders spray painted black paint on two vehicles parked in a driveway in Webb Street between 10pm on Saturday and 10am on Sunday.
