The P&C Committee organised a whole-school colour run for a third year, and this year they decided to invite Bogan Gate Public School along for the fun.
"It's a small school, they don't have the same opportunities the bigger schools have," P&C president Spike Orr said.
"It was a great opportunity to invite them, it's public schools working together."
The five students that make Bogan Gate Public and the 425 students from Parkes Public took to the obstacle course in the form of a dry run in the morning, with the colour run taking place in the afternoon.
Families also enjoyed a barbecue lunch, while the Year 6 prefects ran a cupcake stall.
The money raised will go towards upgrading the school's playground.
"They (the kids) love the colour, they love the fun," Spike said.
"It gets families involved, the under five years siblings could join in if they wanted to.
"It's a real family atmosphere."
