WASTE TO ART … Baling Twine and Strapping
This year the Sims Metal Waste to Art & design 2018-19 community art exhibition and competition is looking for participants from the Parkes Shire who can showcase imaginative works made from reused and recyclable waste materials.
Artworks can be made from any waste materials that attempt to highlight problem issues. An additional prize will be given to an artwork featuring this year's theme of Baling Twine and Strapping.
"It is inspirational to see how creative our community members are in using what would often just be thrown away, but they produce a piece of artwork that can be enjoyed by us all" says Andrea Lovell Acting Cultural, Education and Library Manager.
Artworks entering the competition are to be delivered to Parkes Library by: Thursday 28 March, 5pm.
The exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to see artwork produced by all ages from our pre-school right throughout all ages and groups in our community.
The exhibition is open for viewing from 4 to 26 April 2019.
The winners will be announced on Thursday 4 April at 6pm.
Entry forms are available at any Parkes Shire Library, library@parkes.nsw.gov.au
