As a result of the severe weather event last night, power outages are still ongoing to the main water pump station servicing the Parkes Water Treatment Plant.
“Supply capacity has now reached critical levels for servicing users and until power is restored this afternoon, council is asking residents to cease any domestic watering for the remainder of today to ensure supply is not comprised further,” the media notice read.
“Given that on average 15mm of rain fell last night across town, this should more than cater for a day of missed watering.”
Level 2 restrictions will continue as normal across Parkes from tomorrow.

“We thank you all for your cooperation and conservation during this critical time,” Parkes Shire Council said.
