Formerly known as the Holden Scramble, the event has been re-named the Volkswagen Scramble with the German car manufacturer now sponsoring the popular ambrose event.
After winning last year’s event and representing the club at nthye regional final at Yowani Country Club in Canberra, Team Stevenson posted a very good 55.5 nett to finish in top spot again this year.
It wasn’t all plain sailing for them though as the late withdrawal of Jake Hodge, due to illness, had the team ‘scrambling’ for a fourth player.
Richard Hutchison more than adequately filled Hodge’s boots and will join Stevenson, John Green and Denis Howard at the regional final with new Parkes Golf Club professional Ben Gear.
Making the win even sweeter for Stevenson was that her husband David and his team finished as runners-up, more than a shot behind with a score of 57.125 nett.
