CAN YOU HELP: Dubbo Community Men's Shed is once again turning to Parkes people for donations of sewing machines and computers to donate to the Philippines.

The Dubbo Community Men's Shed has enjoyed a great relationship with Parkes people in the past when it comes to helping out others.

During a previous regional sewing machine drive to donate to people less fortunate overseas, the Dubbo Men's Shed had received 35 sewing machines from Parkes.

The group is once again turning to the generous people of Parkes for their help with another drive.

Members are gathering sewing machines and computers to send to the Philippines for charitable purposes.

They will accept both lap tops and desk tops, but with nothing older than Windows Vista.

The group has accountability for its distribution in the Philippinea as Dubbo member Geoff Higgins has visited the Philippines 21 times and has a lot of contacts there.

“We have a technician friend in the Philippines who prepares computers for distribution,” Geoff said.

Anyone wishing to donate sewing machines or computers should contact Mrs Doris Field of 11 Middleton Street, Parkes. Her phone number is 0438 624 778 or Geoff Higgins can be contacted on 68 82 0521 for general enquiries.
