Just after 6pm police received a report that a blue Holden Astra hatchback had been taken from an address in Rose Street.
A short time later police received a report that a male was acting aggressively at the BP All-Nighter and failed to pay for fuel.
This was followed by another phone call stating a blue hatchback was travelling south of Parkes at speed on the wrong side of the road on the Newell Highway.
A fifth phone call reported a blue hatchback was involved in a high speed roll-over 9km from Parkes on the Forbes Road.
When officers arrived they found the driver had removed himself from the vehicle which had come to rest on its roof.
He was suffering facial injuries.
After speaking to police, the driver attempted to leave the scene on foot before officers arrested him.
While he was being arrested he threatened officers with a rock and spat on one of them.
He was transported to Parkes Hospital by NSW Ambulance where he was kept under observation for four hours.
The driver was released to police who took him to Parkes Police Station and charged him with a string of offences including dishonestly obtain benefit by deception, behave in an offensive manner in or near a public place, drive recklessly, furiously or speed manner dangerous, two counts of assault officer in execution of duty, driver never licensed, negligent driving.
He was refused police bail and appeared in Parkes Local Court on Friday where he was further refused bail to appear in Parkes Local Court on Monday, January 7, 2019.
