Judy McCabe and Anita Medcalf put together a good round to finish with 69 nett.
They were a quarter of a shot better off than Colleen Flynn and Cathy Kelly who finished with 69.25 nett.
Kaye Jones and Kasey Fay-Rice were the final ball winners, three-quarters of a shot further back on 70 nett.
Nearest the pins were Kaye Jones on the 1st (sponsored by Kaye Jones). Lorraine Maxwell on the 4th (Parkes Pharmacy), Judy McCabe on the 6th (Telescope Tyres), and Frankie Cock on the 11th (Club sponsored) and 15th (Railway Hotel).
Ann Berkeley and Liz Matthews claimed the Anne Goodie award.
Last Wednesday, Parkes’ lady golfers competed in an 18 stableford.
Frankie Cock proved too good on the day, winning the event with a very good 39 points.
She finished three points ahead of Leone Thompson on 36 points.
Third placed was decided via a countback after Lyn Davison and Sue Holman both finished on 34 points.
The countback went the way of Lyn.
Nearest the pins were Sue Holman on the 1st (Macquarie Alarms) and 6th (Dunford’s Pharmacy), Colleen Flynn the 4th (Parkes leagues Club) and Frankie Cock on the 11th (Parkes Services Club) and 15th (Parkes Caravans).
Parkes Ladies Club Championships begin tomorrow with the second round this Saturday and the final round on Saturday 27th.
