This Saturday, October 13, the Central West Car Club will be hosting its 14th Annual Charity Show and Shine at Pioneer Oval in Parkes.
The CWCC has existed since the 1950's, initially involved with motor racing in the form of hill climbs and drag racing.
Nowadays the club's main event is its Charity Show and Shine which now in its 14th year allows owners to show off their prized vehicles, provides great entertainment for all ages of motor enthusiasts and at the same time raises much needed funds for the Parkes Branch of Can Assist.
Over the last few years thanks to the amazing generosity of local businesses and sponsors the CWCC has consistently donated in excess of $10,000 each year to Can Assist to benefit local people in their battles with cancer.
This year's show hopes to be equally successful featuring cars, motorbikes and trucks not only locally but from Sydney and the Hunter Valley amongst others.
Valiants will be the feature vehicles this year and there will also be a vintage machinery display and plenty more to see.
Once again the Parkes Antique Motor Club will be hosting its annual swap meet adjoining the Show and Shine site.
Spectator entry to the Show and Shine is by gold coin donation to Can Assist with gates open at 9am.
There will be Saturday night Fish 'n Chips for tea at the ground (price $8) as well as our Breakfast run on Sunday morning to The Dish restaurant at the Telescope as well.
For those wanting to make a late vehicle entry, there will be entries taken on the day but all vehicles need to be in the gate between 7:30am and 8:30am and must remain on the oval until 2:30pm.
So for a great day out with family and friends come and look around at Pioneer Oval on Saturday.
There's BBQ and refreshments available all day and there's always plenty of shade in the grandstand to beat the heat of the day.
