Along with having collection buckets at their counters, the store has donated a raffle containing everyday and luxury items to raise as much money as they can for local producers.
Tickets are $2 each or three for $5.
But pharmacy manager Jenny Leeming said that’s not all they want to do.
They’re also planning to host a morning tea at their premises on Friday, September 28 from 10am until 11.30am.
“We’re asking for a gold coin donation and Ron Dunford Chemist staff are cooking,” Jenny said.
Staff are extending a special invitation to Parkes’ farmers and their families to attend the morning tea.
“We’d love to see farmers attend, just so we can catch up with them and support them,” Jenny said.
“Because the community of Parkes and our local farmers have always supported Ron Dunford Chemist, it’s time for us to give back to the farmers.
“The money is going to stay local, it’s not going anywhere else.
“We are going to give all this money to a local group who can distribute it to who needs it.”
Jenny said their aim is to raise $10,000.
So far the business has raised $800, with another $5000 that has been pledged.
