Whether you have a hunger for heart stopping, adrenaline pumping excitement or seeing locals in novelty events, the Parkes Show features an action packed entertainment program rarely seen in a regional area. You can witness the amazing fireworks display or take in all the amazing free activities like kite making, face painting, balloon sculpting and much more at the CMOC- Northparkes Kidzone.
There will also an animal nursery for those looking for some cute and cuddly attention, while ever popular sideshow alley will have thrilling rides including the Zipper, Tide, and Wipeout, along with prizes on offer for those willing to test themselves in the games of skill.
The show will be headlined by the highly anticipated Showtime Freestyle Motocross show. The Showtime FMX team put on a spectacular performance and are Australia’s longest running and most successful freestyle motocross team. Their amazing team of riders soar through the air performing tricks such as rock solids, turn downs, heart attacks, back-flips, and many more.
Everyone is invited to come and try their luck on the free mechanical bull in the machinery area on Tuesday, and see who can outlast their friends. Wednesday will see the real experts in bull riding take their place in the Langlands Longhorn Bullride Championship, with men’s, women’s and junior categories available, to see who can go the eight seconds and emerge victorious.
For those who feel that trying to conquer 800 kilograms of wild, bucking bull is a bit above their skill level, there are plenty of other competitions and activities that you can enter. The Young Farmer Challenge is always a crowd favourite and returns with a new set of tasks for those willing to try their hand, while after an exciting debut last year, the Lawn Mower Races will be back bigger and better than ever.

Wednesday will begin to wrap up with the spectacular, and incredibly fun, demolition derby which is a must see for any visitor to the show. Of course the show wouldn’t have a grand finale without fireworks and this year is no different. The crowd will love the Westlime’s spectacular fireworks extravaganza, so make sure you are rugged up warm and ready to watch the fantastic display.
