The Cancer Council organises an annual event called Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, which enables Australians to help raise money for cancer research simply by turning one’s usual morning tea with friends into a private little charity event where those attending make as small or as big a contribution as they wish.
The months of May and June are suggested months to host a Biggest Morning Tea event, and Neighbourhood Central held their’s on June 5.
The organisation decided to make it a bake-off, so staff members agreed on a fixed donation price to participate, and brought along a home-made treat.
And a treat it was!
Of course, a bake-off requires a winner.
Neighbourhood Central’s winner was crowned “Queen of the Kitchen” for 2018 with her delicious cream and strawberry pancake sandwiches, and was awarded a trophy to boot. Congratulations Lyn!
