The accident happened 25 kilometres east of Parkes at 12pm.
The driver of a prime mover carrying grain, a 42-year-old woman from Tomingley, was in the left lane while another heavy vehicle was in the process of overtaking her in an overtaking lane.
The driver moved over to allow the other vehicle to overtake her safely, however the trailer slipped off the roadway causing the truck and trailer to run into trees.
The driver was uninjured.
NSW Police, NSW Fire and Rescue, Rural Fire Service and RMS were at the scene.
The road was closed for a short time while the truck and trailer were towed.

Police are viewing CCTV footage in an attempt to identify a male and female who tried to steal a number of items from a business in Clarinda Street on Tuesday.
The pair entered the store at 3.30pm and were seen to fill up a reusable shopping bag with lollies, drinks and cleaning products.
They were approached by staff who asked to check the bag.
The pair became abusive, threw the bag at a staff member and left the store.
The male is described as late 30s, 170 to 180cm, short brown hair, rotten teeth, wearing multi-coloured shorts.
The female is described as 12 to 14 years old, 150cm, skinny build, sandy blonde hair and wearing a pink t-shirt.

The front door to a business in Clarinda Street was damaged in an attempted break and enter overnight on Wednesday.
Unknown persons attempted to kick the door in sometime between 5pm on Wednesday and 5am on Thursday.
Police are viewing CCTV footage of the area in an attempt to identify the offenders.
