The TR6SS was introduced in 1962 and ran through until 1966 with a 650cc twin cylinder engine and a 2 into 1 exhaust, and for the "tech-heads" initiated the unit construction engines into the 650 line-up with the 1963 model like Bob's.
Bob bought the bike and sidecar package as it is today from Bruce Fields in Forbes.
Bruce had bought the motorbike in Condobolin from Bob Pitt and then separately purchased the Dusting sidecar unit, which are still available from a firm in Melbourne.
Col Pearse from Forbes painted the sidecar to match the bike and he and Bruce fitted it up to complete the Triumph package.
For Bob it was by no means his first motorbike.
He's had bikes all his life and remembers riding a motorbike to work in Broken Hill in the early 70's back before compulsory helmet laws were in place.
He's also been a long time member of the Ulysses motorbike club and attended 20 AGM's across Australia, riding as far as Cairns to the north and Perth to the west on a motorbike.
“The Triumph doesn't quite go that distance,” Bob laughed.
“It gets to local displays and rallies and the dogs like to jump in the sidecar occasionally for a lap around the yard.”
Bob said he wasn't really looking for a sidecar but about six or eight years ago heard that Bruce was selling this one.
He'd never even ridden one so he naturally found it a bit different to handle.
“My first ride was on a wet road and I ended up off the side of the road in the mud,” joked Bob, “still upright of course!”

He's since enjoyed it whenever he can and even took out a trophy for Best Classic Motorcycle at this years Parkes Elvis Festival.
