Under 10s: As some teams will be down on numbers this week, all u10 players are to report to Armstrong Oval where Coaches/Managers will sort players into two teams for a social game. Also there will be NO cross town games between Parkes and Forbes u10s this season.
Rule Changes in u12s. At the PDJCA meeting held Monday, February 12 it was resolved that u12 bowlers will only bowl a maximum of six balls per over (this total includes wides and no balls). It was also ruled that the pitch length will be a full 20.1 meter pitch with no need to move the stumps when weaker bowlers are bowling from a shorter length.
Representative Cricket: Dubbo White prove to be too strong. Parkes u12 Representative Cricket team travelled to Dubbo on Sunday, February 11 to play Dubbo White at Victoria Park No 3 Oval. After a shaky start Dubbo White eventually emerged as comfortable winners.
The scores were: Dubbo White 8/112 in 32 overs (Jack Fuller 53, Lochlan George 16, Bailey O’Connor 15 n.o, Maddy Spence 4/21 off seven overs, Harry Jones 3/18 off seven overs) defeated Parkes 10/32 in 13 overs (Ryan Dunford 13, Affan Sagri 2/8 off three overs, Josh Townsend 2/0 off 1 overs, Jacob Knight 2/3 off twi overs, Ty Sissian 1/1 off two overs) Dubbo White won by 80 runs.
Batting first Dubbo White were soon in big trouble as their score stood at 6/21 after eight overs. Parkes opening bowlers Harry Jones (3/18 off seven overs) and Maddy Spence (4/21 off seven overs) were in excellent form as they cut a scythe through the early order Dubbo White batting line up.
To the credit of the Dubbo White team, their later order players Lochlan George (16) and Bailey O’Connor (15no) batted defiantly to assist opener Jack Fuller (53 off 64 balls) to build a more substantial tally of 8/112 after their allocated 32 overs.
Jack Fuller deserves special merit for his fine innings of 53 that featured five fours. Jack Milne captured 1/24 off five overs for Parkes. In reply Parkes offered little batting resistance to a keen Dubbo White team led by Affan Sagri 2/8 off three overs.
Only Ryan Dunford (13) was able to reach double figures as Dubbo White took wickets at regular intervals to have Parkes all out for 32 runs in 13 overs.
