All intending Pennants players are requested to put your names down on the sheet on the board or let the bowls committee know if you can't make it.
Championship games played over the weekend: Major Singles – New member Greg Fisher played well to defeat Matty McGrath: Jim Daley had a fight on his hands when he played Pav Cross. Pav pushed him all the way with Jim just pulling ahead in the last few ends. Well done Pav. Then we had an upset with Alan Cameron going down to newcomer Chad Weekes. Chad had Cammo down 28 to 7 before Cammo came back but the finish line was too close and Chad ran out a good winner. Well done Chad. Luke Ramsay played Kevin Hynds. Luke got away to a good start and kevy hung in there but wasn't able to make up the difference and in the only other game Mike Valentine played Gary Phillips. Gary started well and led up til the 12th end when Mike fought back and led 27 to 13 on the 26th end, Gary fought back but couldn't make up the difference with mike winning 31 to 22. There will be another game on today, Friday 16, between Steve Frame and Lee Hetherington. This should be a cracker so if you want to see some good bowls get down to the club. It's set for 1pm start. The only other game left in the first round is between Neil Stronach and David Law. Come on boys, get this game over and we can concentrate on the next round.
There were no social bowls on Saturday as we held a Charity Day on the Greens, which turned out to be a fantastic success.
Wednesdays winners were Mike Valentine and Greg Huggins with a huge win 19 + 22 and runnerups were Wally Grant and Bob Freeman with a win 17 + 2. The jackpot was 5 and did not go off.
Four of our Triples teams will be playing in the Zone Championships at the Town Club this weekend – should be some good games.

Bedgerabong Picnic Races preview
Saturday, February 17
The very tough and much travelled four-year-old mare Lulu’s Destiny is a good chance to give Nyngan trainer Rodney Robb and jockey Maddison Wright back to back wins tomorrow in the $7,500 Wallace Bulk Haulage-Fabstock Bedgerabong Picnic Cup (1400m).
Last year the Robb trained Security Code won the Cup from Black Fusion and Zaphod and later in the year with Maddison Wright again in the saddle Security Code won the inaugural $50,000 Picnic Championship Final at Dubbo.
During 2017 Rodney Robb embarked on a marathon trip with several horses to race at isolated meetings in the far north of Western Australia and Lulu’s Destiny was the star of the team with three wins at Wyndham and Kununurra.
Resuming from a spell Lulu’s Destiny won at the recent Parkes TAB meeting.
Black Fusion, runner up to Security Code in both the Bedgerabong Cup and Picnic Championship when trained at Wagga Wagga by Scott Spackman, will go around again in the Cup tomorrow but this time from the Tumbarumba stables of Philip Waters.
Condobolin trainer Steve Beattie has the in-form Spinning Dawn engaged and the leading Picnic jockey Ricky Blewitt will be in the saddle.
At the first start after coming from stables at Hawkesbury, Spinning Dawn won the Orange Picnic Cup and then finished strongly from the back of the field to be beaten by a nose by Lakota Sioux in the Geurie Picnic Cup.
Parkes trainer George Wright would love to win a Cup at Bedgerabong and Cyclone Andy gives him a good chance of doing so.
Cyclone Andy ran a tip top third to brilliant sprinter Danish Lace in the Gilgandra Town Plate then finished second to Spinning Dawn at Orange before missing a place at Geurie.
Craig Tyack, the popular president of the Tullibigeal Picnic Club, is hoping for an improved run from Maharaaj, a relative newcomer to his stables. Katie Spalding, formerly from England, will ride Maharaaj.
Dubbo trainer has the Geurie Picnic Cup winner Lakota Sioux in the Cup along with stablemate Felicette.
Trainers from Forbes with runners at Bedgerabong are Barry Molloy, Wendy Baker and Caitlin Cox.
Fields for the meeting were released Thursday and are online through racingnsw.com.au
The day’s racing starts at 1.40pm, Race 2 is the Maiden Plate at 2.15pm. The Clearview Bracelet is Race 4, at 3.35pm. The feature race, the Bedgerabong Picnic Cup, is on at 4.15pm. The last race of the day is at 5.15pm.
