Emergency services received reports of an explosion in Bogan Street at 4.40pm on Monday.

The rear of a truck trailer carrying heavy machinery caught fire due to a mechanical failure.

Parkes Fire and Rescue NSW crew extinguished the blaze while police directed traffic around the area.

Initial investigations suggest there may have been an issue with the trailer’s brakes.
