Max Shepherd Shield U/14 Carnival at Dubbo
Parkes U/14 player Harry Bayliss recently represented Lachlan Cricket Council at the ninth Annual Max Shepherd Shield Cricket Carnival at Dubbo. Parkes team manager Graeme Bayliss and Umpire Greg Morrissey were on hand to guide the Lachlan team.
The Lachlan team performed with distinction at the eight team carnival being the eventual runners up to a strong Dubbo team. Lachlan scored convincing victories on the first two days at the 3 day carnival. With 45 overs a side games, Lachlan 6/168 defeated Bathurst Green 9/152 on day one, then went on to thrash Orange with the score being – Lachlan 5/166 to Bathurst Green 10/76. Harry Bayliss turned in a superb bowling spell of 4 overs, 3 maidens, 0/1 in this game before he top scored with 32 n.o. against Dubbo Blue on day three – with Dubbo Blue 10/248 defeating Lachlan 9/140.
Once again the Max Shepherd Shield carnival proved to be a terrific opportunity for the U/14 cricketers to begin the season. All the Lachlan players were splendid on and off field ambassadors for Lachlan Cricket Council.
