The official day for National Schools Tree Day is today.
Mr Chambers helped Years 3 and 4 students to propagate native plants which will soon be planted on the bank of a hill at the school.
The students had a great time, preparing the cuttings, planting and placing the finished product in the greenhouse.
The purpose of planting natives in this area of the school is to add beauty and encourage bees to the area to pollinate the vegetables the students grow.
Middleton Public School is a Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden School so there are many vegetable beds near the area growing an abundance of fresh produce for students to cook.
Middleton Public School thanks Mr Chambers for his interest and for sharing his knowledge with their native propagation project.
