Dance With The Stars at the ABBA Festival

Have your dancing shoes at the ready as the Trundle ABBA Festival welcomes Chanel 7’s Dancing With The Stars regulars Alana Patience and Carmelo Pizzino to the 2015 Festival!

For the last ten years, Alana has been a resident professional on Channel 7's Dancing With The Stars and won the coveted Mirrorball trophy in 2010 with Better Homes and Gardens carpenter Rob Palmer, and won the following 2011 series with Celebrity Chef Manu Feildel.

After six series on the hit show Carmelo has been partnered with some of the most high profile celebrities, such as Kylie Gillies, Lara Bingle and in 2012, television icon Kerri-Anne Kennerly.

Carmelo was most recently a grand finalist on the show with Home and Away icon Lynne McGranger.

Alana and Carmelo are now stars in their own right and will bring some serious sparkle, glitz and glamour to the dance floor at the ABBA Festival in Trundle NSW.

On Saturday, May 2, the dancers will be showing off their serious talent in a special dance display for the crowd, which is sure to get revellers on their feet.

Festival goers will once again have the chance to boogie with the stars as they suggest some moves and provide some pointers to the 'Disco Dance' competition hopefuls.

Entrants will use their skills, stamina and style to out-dance their fellow competitors until the final dance-off.

The 'Best Dancer', as judged by the crowd and the professionals, will receive a cash prize, as well as the glory of being the Disco Dance Champion of the 2015 Trundle ABBA Festival!

For the first time in 2015, Alana and Carmelo will also be holding a free dance classes exclusively for local dance students.

Trundle mini-groovers will have a chance to get their boogie on and learn some inside tips and tricks from the pros. Participants will have Alana and Carmelo all to themselves for two private 40 minute sessions - an experience the local youngsters are sure never to forget!

Festival Secretary Pam Crowley is thrilled to be introducing this new event.

“Having Alana and Carmelo run these fabulous classes provides a truly once in a lifetime opportunity for our local dancers,” Pam said.

“These types of festival inclusions are also what we believe the Trundle ABBA Festival is all about; supporting our small town and providing fun and unique experiences for the whole family.”
