About 7.45pm (September 2014), two male members of a church, aged 30 and 34, went to the church on Dalton Street to collect food.
Inside the kitchen, the men were confronted by a man holding a knife.
When the man ran from the building with the stolen money, the pair gave chase before losing sight of him a short time later.
Police from Lachlan Local Area Command were called to the church and established a crime scene.
Detectives would now like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.
The man has been described as being about 30 years old and 153 to 163cm tall.
He was last seen wearing a black beanie, black hooded jumper, dark-coloured pants, and dark-coloured joggers with sparkly laces.
