As we head into December, the tennis events will soon start to slow down at a local level but nationally and internationally there will be plenty of action.

These will lead in to the Australian Open, starting Jan 17 - 30 in Melbourne.
Locally, the Bokeyar Cups were played on Sunday in a twilight event.
There were red ball players right through to Under 15s.
Thank you to Nia Boggs who looked after the red ball group, and Alison McCormick and Catherine Forbes who were great helping out the Orange ball players.
Brendon and Sharon Hunt, along with Greg Magill, did a splendid job on the barbeque with everyone enjoying their dinner.

The 2021 Club Championships started early on Sunday in a bid to beat the heat of previous years, but it was a surprisingly mild morning and a pleasant temperature for competitive tennis.
After the lunch break there was a rapid change come through with hot and humid conditions draining the player's energy systems and, at times, their patience and subsequent shot selection.
Luke Evans stood tall in the A-grade mens singles.
He defeated Ben Isaac in the final after Ben played some of his best tennis to date in the round robin stage to make the final.
Luke controlled the match from the start and as hard as Ben tried, Luke lifted his level to compound the change of pace.
The A-grade mens doubles saw a superb contest which went down to the wire.
Andrew Slattery and Gabe Goodrick took on the singles finalists who were combining for the first time.
Andrew and Gabe won the first set, before Luke and Ben bounced back.
The third set tiebreaker went the way of Luke and Ben, who were very happy to claim the title.

Helen Magill is managing to keep the young charges at bay and added yet another A-grade ladies singles title to her collection, after accounting for the very capable young lefty Kaitlyn Stevenson.
Kaitlyn showed glimpses of brilliance, but couldn't maintain her consistency from earlier match play.
Helen teamed with young Tia Dunn in the A-grade doubles and they played Kaitlyn and Poppy Fisher.
Tia has been training hard and deserved this opportunity to step up.
She returned serve with nice depth and pace and consistently set up her partner Helen for easy put away volleys.
Poppy had some nice rally pace and wasn't overawed by the occasion.
Kaitlyn had her lefty serve working well, but Helen and Tia both found a way to combat the extra spin and speed, and finally took the match, and the title, of A-grade ladies doubles champions.
The A-grade mixed doubles was a good contest.
After the earlier events took longer than expected, the mixed doubles overlapped into the junior Bokeyar Cups event, so many in the crowd were taking a look at the skill and competitiveness on display in the mixed doubles.
James and Poppy Fisher, Ben Isaac and Kaitlyn Stevenson along with James Beuzeville and Maddy McCormick all won one match each, while Luke Evans and Helen Magill teamed up for their 12th year and cruised to victory.
After a countback, James and Poppy were declared the runners-up.
The B-grade, the mens singles was hard fought from start to finish, with Mitch Arndell proving too good on the day despite a fighting comeback from Mitch Unger in the final after the round robin stage was fiercely contested.
The B-grade ladies singles went to up and coming young gun Poppy Fisher, who out lasted Tia Dunn after some very long rallies provided entertainment for the crowd in attendance.
These two juniors are a great example of sportsmanship while playing with determination and at times desperation and deserved to be on the victory podium.
The B-grade mens doubles victors were the Unger brothers - Mitch and Lachlan - who proved too strong for the father son combo Brendon and Ethan Hunt.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Championships.
It is an important part of the Club's history and the committee in future years need to ensure it continues to be a part of the annual calendar of events.
A huge congratulations to all the players and behind-the-scenes workers who made these club championships a roaring success.
A hearty thumbs-up to the winners, but to all those who competed, don't let put your head down - you all played amazing tennis and are a credit to Parkes' tennis community.
