A COVID-19 outbreak in the Central West might have halted proceedings in the Western Premier League, but the Cobras were primed to make finals, and make a serious dent at that - building up a dangerous block of form.
At the start of proceedings at the Coachman Hotel Motel last Saturday night, Adam Parker was thanked and recognised as the founder of the Parkes Cobras with a gift.
Parker has moved to Newcastle for work, but you never know - you might still be seeing him resplendent in purple during the 2022 season!
He also received the Club Person of the Year award, an acknowledgement for the huge role he has played in creating a club with a vibrant culture and a really strong presence in a crowded Parkes sporting scene.

Parker said he was honoured to receive the awards, and is excited about the future of the Cobras.
"I'm all about seeing people reach their full potential when it comes to sport, and it was an absolute pleasure to be able to be a part of an inaugural club that is providing just that for footballers in the community," he told the Parkes Champion Post.
"To be recognised for my contributions this season was an absolute honour, and it was a fitting ending to my time with the Cobras.
"No doubt I'll still be throwing my two-bobs in from afar, but I wish the club all the best moving forward and I'm excited to see what the 2022 season brings for the boys," said Parker.
For the other major awards, it was no surprise to see Meaghan Kempson's Coaches Award go to Hayden Westcott for his brilliant, and consistent, season in the back line, while spot-kick specialist Alec Bateson was the runaway Golden Boot winner.
Players Player went to goalkeeper Ryan Dunn despite star midfielder Marty Doherty stealing the majority of votes at the start of the season before he moved away for work.
