Race 1 - 6.22pm, TAB Long May We Play Pace (1660m)
Jacobs Thunder ($2.75) returns to racing for Dubbo's Michael Pay after not racing since August 6 due to the COVID lockdown - and despite the draw he looks very good for this. If you look up the definition of 'Track Specialist' in the dictionary, you'll find a picture of Jacobs Thunder; who hasn't finished out of the quinella in his last seven starts in Parkes. The draw (3) is a little sticky, and his trial on September 14 didn't exactly light the world on fire, but he doesn't usually let the Parkes punters down.
Tackas Princess ($5.50) might be the main danger after a nail-biting win last Friday in Parkes. She faced a few of these runners on that occasion, and just needs to find a good spot from the gate.
Tips: 2 - 6 - 10 - 4
Race 2 - 6.50pm, Dinosaurus Rex Garrards Ironhorse Pace (1660m)
Another race, another short-priced runner with Amanda Turnbull in the gig. Just Won More ($1.90) has been racing in some stronger company, although he hasn't won since moving to Josh Turnbull's Bathurst stable on May 9.
Looking for a bit more value in this one in the form of Western Bill ($4.50) who, despite the huge price, ran a handy race in a NSW Breeders Challenge heat here last Friday. He really caught the eye and Grenfell trainer Mark Hewitt has been on fire of late. He's also the highest rated horse in this race.
Good Cop ($26) has secured the gun draw for local trainer Stan Townsend, and although he hasn't been in terrific form, he can run a cheeky race at odds.
Tips: 5 - 1 - 3 - 4
Race 3 - 7.20pm, Gallagher Insurance Brokers Dubbo Pace (1660m)
Another very open race for the punters, this one. There are four runners in single digits, and most of the field could lay claim to a chance as well. Keen to see what the up-and-comer Can't Bluff You ($3.25) can do here in just third career start. The son of Roll With Joe was pretty impressive when winning in 1:59.7 last start, and has plenty of upside.
Drive To The Beach ($3.75) and Eagle Commander ($3) are very highly rated in this company, while Williewa Lightning ($21) has drawn well and presents much better value.
Tips: 7 - 2 - 8 - 1

Race 4 - 7.50pm, Mates 4 Harness Pace (2040m)
The short-priced favourite Rnr Windermere ($2.25) has been racing for Amanda Turnbull in Queensland over the winter months, and if she's at her best she'll be too good for this lot. Probably going to side with Myra Dawn ($3.75) from the second row though - the Bettors Delight mare has been racing in some decent company, and smashed the opposition by 8.3 metres in her last start on the Parkes track. She loves racing here.
Tips: 8 - 2 - 1 - 4
Race 5 - 8.20pm, NSW Breeders Challenge 2YO Fillies Heat (1660m)
You can tick the Field box in the first leg of the quaddie. It's the first feature heat of the evening, and this time the two year olds will get their chance. Couldn't have been more impressed with Art Thou Lexy ($6), in Bathurst a fortnight ago. Owned and bred by Forbes Harness Racing Club's president Lex Crosby, the Art Major filly showed great gate speed in the 1:58.6 win, and I think she can lead all the way and win here.
Throw a blanket over the rest of them. And go wiiiiide in the quaddie. As always, the Turnbull runners will be very tough to beat too - and there is four of them with a very live chance.
Tips: 3 - 10 - 11 - 7
Race 6 - 8.50pm, NSW Breeders Challenge 2YO Colts and Geldings Heat (1660m)
This heat looks a little more straight forward. I really like the chances of Steve Turnbull's Saint Veran ($2.35) here. The two-year-old gelding has finished out of the placings just once in eight career starts, and was second in a Group 3 at Menangle in June. Even from the outside on the second row, he's got Amanda Turnbull in the gig and I think he might just be the bet of the night.
Bling It Up ($3.75) is clearly a talented horse who will be looking for three on the trot (pun intended) while another Crosby-bred horse, Better Than Lexy ($21), has managed to string some strong trials together as well as winning last Friday on this track.
Tips: 9 - 4 - 5 - 1
Race 7 - 9.20pm, Thank You Stallion Tender Bidders Pace (2040m)
The punters have already backed Collect A Dime ($1.65) heavily, and he will be even shorter come race time. He has plenty of upside. but I won't be playing at that price. Going to go with Caribbean Pat ($21) to upset the apple cart a bit here, sure she's been beaten by a bit the last few starts, but Malcolm Hutchings might be able to camp behind the leader and run a good race at each-way odds at his best.
Tips: 8 - 3 - 5 - 7
Race 8 - 9.50pm, Stay Safe Pace (1660m)
Interested to see what Uroc N Warrior ($5.50) can do returning from a spell here. He's got the gun draw and despite the fact he's got just one win in 50 starts, Monique Parsons can take him to the front and give them something to run down. Probably safest to keep your money in your wallet for this one, though.
Tips: 1 - 8 - 6 - 2
Race 9 - 10.18pm, Thank You Parkes HRC Pace (1660m)
It's the last race for the evening and we'll have the shortest favourite for the night. Amanda Turnbull's Its A Sweet Life ($1.36) is out of Sweet Lou and Yolo, and the colt some very impressive trial wins under the belt. Think she'll cruise to victory in a canter, but you can't take that price. How about sticking a wager on Uptown Beachgirl ($15) to place. The filly has been pretty consistent in her young career and hasn't disgraced herself one bit in some strong company.
Tips: 9 - 4 - 1 - 2
