For just $30 per person a fabulous 2-course luncheon will be served at the Parkes Services Club.
International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the achievements of women and raising awareness where necessary. The 2020 theme is #EachforEqual
Once again, we will be able to showcase the talents and expertise of local and regional women with a fabulous line up of diversity in our guest speakers, Dr Khazima Riaz, Meg Rice, and Melinda Carlyle.
There will be entertainment, and Rockman's has kindly agreed to stage a fashion parade.
Dr Khazima Riaz completed her Bachelor of Dentistry at the University of Sydney in 2004. The impact of making a difference on her patients' overall health is something that Dr Riaz finds highly rewarding. She says the best part about being a family dentist is the opportunity it gives her to meet different people each day.
Dr Riaz is the only female dentist in Parkes where she lives with her husband (a local GP) and two young boys. Dr Riaz is a busy Mum and a self-proclaimed "foodie".
Meg Rice is from a mixed livestock and cropping property near Parkes. In 2019 she graduated from the University of New England with a Bachelor of Agriculture/Laws. She has also been admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales.
With a greater understanding of the issues and policies surrounding the agricultural industry, Meg aspires to provide assistance and support to rural and regional communities. Contributing to the success and growth of agriculture and becoming involved in agricultural policy and consultancy is high on Meg's agenda.
Melinda Carlyle studied Early Childhood Education at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, then went on to work in the UK, Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in early childhood services, primary teaching, tertiary education, and management/leadership.
Caring for a young boy from the child protection system, prompted Melinda to branch out into the field of child protection and leadership.
She lives in Wodonga with her husband and three children and is currently the Regional Manager of Anglicare, covering the Riverina. Melinda's region provides the most foster care placements in the whole of Anglicare in NSW and ACT.
Tickets are $30 each and are available up to Monday, March 2, at Absolutely Hair, 207 Clarinda Street, Parkes.
Come along and make International Women's Day YOUR day and enjoy the entertainment, inspiration, lunch and excellent company.
