A CAR has been destroyed in an overnight blaze near the railway lines in Parkes.

Firefighters were called to Brolgan Road at 11.03pm on Monday following reports of a blaze on the rail corridor.
"On arrival crews were confronted with a car well alight and acted quickly to extinguish the fire before the strong winds could fan the flames into nearby scrub," Fire and Rescue NSW Parkes brigade said in a statement.
"Thank you to Parkes headquarters RFS for assisting us with water supply."
