You'll enjoy greater freedom, with the responsibility of being legally allowed to drive alone.
However, with this new responsibility come risks, and unfortunately young drivers (17 to 25) are statistically more likely to be in a fatal accident after making the transition to their P1 licence.
The Safer Drivers Course aims to prepare you for this risky time in your life and introduces you to lifelong low-risk driving behaviours.
It highlights the very real road risks and lifestyle dangers you face and provides guidance and strategies on how to handle these tricky everyday situations.
Enrolling is easy, all you need to do is go to www.saferdrivers.org.au or drop into the club.
And, that's not even the best part: learner drivers who complete the course will receive 20 hours of logbook credit. To be eligible for the course you must meet the following criteria:
Hold a valid NSW learner licence
Be under the age of 25
Have completed minimum of 50 hours of actual on-road driving (any credit hours gained under the Structured Professional Lesson (three for one) scheme must be excluded) and must include at least ten hours of nighttime driving
Our next course is running on Friday, May 24. Module 2 sessions to be held on the , May 25.
- Module 1 is a three-hour group discussion session with other L platers, where you'll learn how to manage risks on the road
- Module 2 is a two-hour in-vehicle coaching session with a Coach and another learner so you can learn a range of practical low-risk driving behaviours.
