From a total of 37 civilian staff nominations from across the state, Jennifer was one of three finalists chosen in the Employee of the Year category.
The winner was a friend of Jenny’s - Mrs Christine Strickland from the Monaro Local Area Command.
The award recognises the outstanding contribution of NSW Police Force civilian employees and reflects the crucial supporting role they play in the daily business of policing.
Born and raised in Parkes, Jenny has notched up almost 35 years with the NSW Police having commenced her career here in Parkes in January 1981.
During this period she has worked in Parkes, Forbes, Queanbeyan and Parramatta.
For the past 16 years Jennifer has held the title of Local Area Manager, Lachlan Local Area Command where she is responsible for Finance, Human Resources (HR) Management, Police Properties and Information Technology.
One of her most important roles in recent years was project managing the construction of the new $14 million Parkes Police Station which opened in February, 2014.
“This year’s Rotary Clubs of NSW awards was held in the Dockside Pavilion at Sydney’s Darling Harbour and I was proud to be accompanied by Superintendent Chris Taylor and his wife Roslyn, Inspector Nick Weyland, Inspector Dave Cooper and his wife Dana, Inspector Brad Blanchard and his partner Helen, and a close friend of mine Mrs Maria Miller,” Jennifer said.
“I felt honoured to be one of the three finalists chosen and delighted for Christine Strickland when her name was read out by Ray Hadley who MC’d the evening.
“The awards night was a wonderful tribute to all nominees, both police and civilian employees,” Jennifer said.
