The Parkes Spacemen returned to their winning ways again last Sunday with wins in the three mens games and a close loss in the ladies league tag.
The first grade side have secured second spot with two rounds still remaining which is an excellent effort.
If Dennis Moran and his charges can win their next two matches, and Dubbo Cyms slip up against Nyngan in the final round, the Spacemen are still a chance of claiming the minor premiership.
Parkes is blessed to have such a strong rugby league team with those working behind the scenes just as important.
Lionel Harris and his committee are doing a great job of allowing the players to focus solely on winning football matches.
They should be congratulated.

Swans star Lewis Jetta has caused an uproar after he celebrated a goal in Sydney’s 52 point loss to West Coast last weekend with an Aboriginal war cry dance.
Culminating in an imaginary spear being thrown at the crowd, Jetta did the celebration in defence of long time mentor, and Swans legend, Adam Goodes.
The two time Brownlow Medallist, and Australian of the Year, has been receiving rough treatment from fans throughout the competition with boos ringing out around the grounds.
While West Coast were unhappy with “a minority of their fans” booing every time Goodes, their supporters have not been the only culprits.
Goodes has been booed by every crowd, except Sydney, since he completed a similar goal celebration against Carlton in May.
There was nothing wrong or offensive in either Goodes’ or Jetta’s celebrations and I believe any other opinion borders on racism.
Two Aboriginal athletes showing pride in their heritage is not something to get worked up about.
I think it is great.
Jetta’s celebration in defence of his good friend and the person who helped him settle when he first arrived at the Swans is admirable.
The “Bloods” spirit of the Swans has often been talked about and seeing it first hand was great.
Unfortunately the media interest in Jetta’s celebration has overshadowed the fact one West Coast supporter was forcibly removed from the ground after racially abusing Goodes.
I have always been a fan of a good sledge, especially from the crowd.
But, there is absolutely no room for racism.
To me, it shows a lack of intelligence to come up with something witty.
