This is the third time around for Rick Mill and his Monaro, and it possibly won't be the last time we see some changes by the way he's talking.
I'd been seeing and hearing a lot about the build on Ricky's Monaro so I thought I'd better find out more before it changes again.
"It was 10 days out from Summernats 2020 and we decided to change the colour of my 2002 Monaro to make an impression," Ricky said.
"It's been silver, then blue and I decided on HSV Racing Green this time."
All was well until Ricky and mate Zack ran out of green with no time to spare - hence the black roof (which was always planned) but also bonnet and boot.
It's a different look and the dark colours really seem to blend well with the tinted windows and black mirrors.
By all accounts, Ricky had way too much fun at the "Nats" - enough to inspire him to further the build.
"Underneath I've done a lot of mechanical work to set it up for some hard driving at the Nats again in 2022," he said.
"There's a twin throttle body high rise manifold poking through the bonnet and a 2 speed powerglide auto."

In the photo here, Ricky's got the car in competition / showtrim with big 22 x 8 inch Simmons wheels up front and 20 x 10 inch rims on the back with a 5 inch dish, but it can easily be converted back to street trim for some regular cruising.
Ricky is an avid member of the Central West Car Club which meets regularly in Parkes on the first Wednesday of each month.
He's been particularly active in establishing the monthly Friday night Street Meets in Parkes which are becoming more and more popular at the outdoor Coles car park.
Ricky would like to thank Zack Gordon for the painting and his brother Jack Mill for handling the electricals, but to his credit, Ricky has done all the mechanicals and body work himself.
Next on the agenda is Summernats 2022 in Canberra in January, so if you want to seethe Monaro in action, get along to the festival.
