Unfortunately, the weather conditions kept most golfers off the course with only 36 hearty golfers taking to the fairways.

For the last round, the leading golfers were seeded and the top four in each grade played in pairs on the day.

In A-grade, leader Jack Elliott, playing with John Green, commenced the day with a substantive lead and all indications from the previous three rounds suggested he would run away with the competition.

But all golfers know that golf is a funny game, and just when you feel you have it under control it comes back to bite you.

Unfortunately, Jack came in with the worst round of his four and the worst of the A-grade chasing pack, that being an 87.

John, on the other hand, fired the day's best round in the very trying conditions, finishing with 78.

Whilst it was going to be very difficult for John to reel in the 14-stroke lead Jack had started with, he shaved nine shots off that.

Jack then had to await the other scores coming in before it was confirmed that he had indeed still won the event - and with a comfortable five strokes.

John came in second in the stroke event and Luke Clarke again firing a solid 79 came in third - eight shots in arrears of Jack.

Jack had commenced the nett event equal in front with Warwick Wright.

Unfortunately, Warwick didn't contest the last round and with Jack's blow-out, John Green's consistency shone through.

He went on to win the nett contest on 287, a clear seven shots in front of a fast-finishing Phil Barnard and Jack Elliott.

For the A-grade Monthly Medal, John won the scratch event and Phil Barnard won the nett event.

In B-grade, Stephen Riley commenced the last round 11 strokes ahead of his nearest rival, Jack Matthews, who he was playing with.

Jack rose to the occasion and did take two strokes off the leader by the end of the round, but it still was a bridge too far for Jack to reel him in, with Stephen winning the B-grade scratch by nine shots from Jack.

Jake Thompson was a further five strokes behind that pair in third.

In the nett event, Stephen picked up the double, again by a good margin of eight strokes, while Michael Dellaca came in second after firing back-to-back excellent rounds.

For the B-grade Monthly Medal, Peter Bristol fired an 86 to win the scratch event, and Michael Dellaca's 71 won the nett event.

In the C-grade stroke event, Peter Amor proved too strong on the day with his 95 better than the chasing players.

Ray White, who was at or near the lead over the past three rounds, was in second place by three strokes.

These two players were in the same pairing, and therefore it played out more as a match-play situation.

In the nett event, Mike Jeffress had been chasing hard and finished equal on 287 with Ryan Edwards, with the duo eight strokes clear of the pack.

For the C-grade Monthly Medal, Lindsay Elliott hit a 94 to beat Finne Latu on a countback in the scratch event and Mick Jeffress's 72 won the nett event.

So that meant that Phil Barnard at 502cm won the lucrative 6th hole on Saturday.

The Ladies Club Championships were postponed due to the weather and the last round will be played on Wednesday this week.

A reminder that there is a weekly 18 hole competition open from Sunday to close-of-business on Friday at the Parkes Golf Club every week.
