Library staff have been busy preparing for the sale, which will take place between Monday, December 14 and Saturday, December 19.
Cultural, Education and Library Services Manager Kerryn Jones said when the library moved between its former temporary location and its main site in Bogan Street over the last 12 months, they've been left with an excess amount of books.

"There's every kind of book - talking books, non fiction, fiction and picture books," she said.
"There's something for everyone."
Non fiction, fiction, picture books and audio-visual books are on sale for $1 each, or people can buy 10 items for $5.
The book sale is taking place at the same time as the new Arts Revival Festival, which is being held at the premises and Little Theatre.
So if you're attending the festival over the coming week, why not pop your head into the Parkes Library to check out its sale.
