NSW Police officers from Parkes say they shooting occurred on a property on Wongalea Road at Gunningbland west of Parkes on February 15.

"The deceased animal was located by the owner in one of his paddocks," State Rural Crime Co-ordinator Detective Inspector Cameron Whiteside said.

"Police believe the animal may have been shot by illegal hunters trespassing on the property."
