Ms Bignell, who completed a Certificate III in Retail at TAFE NSW Parkes in 2018, won the prestigious Trainee of the Year Award at a gala awards ceremony at Lazy River Estate, Dubbo.
TAFE NSW Regional General Manager, Kate Baxter, praised Claire's commitment and dedication to her studies.
"Amazingly, Claire completed all written components associated with her Certificate III in Retail course in just three months of commencing her traineeship," Ms Baxter said.
"Claire's traineeship was for two years, but because of her hard work and dedication, she completed her training in just six months.
"Claire's become a very important member of the Agriwest CRT team in Parkes, and a great role model for women seeking employment in male-dominated industries such as Agriculture.
"Claire's success is also further proof that TAFE NSW has the greatest range of courses available which give our students a head-start in their pursuit of exciting careers.
"It also delivers on our commitment to train the workforce leaders of the future when, where and how it suits them."
Claire was nominated for the award by TAFE NSW Management Teacher Sandra McCarthy, who said, "During her study at TAFE NSW, Claire always had a positive attitude and a very professional approach to her course.
"She was diligent with her assessments and has a strong work ethic.
"Claire was a pleasure to work with, had great communication skills and is a thoroughly deserving winner of this award."
A humble Claire said, "I was very excited just to be nominated for this award but to win is incredible," she said.
"I worked really hard while studying at TAFE NSW so this award is recognition for the work I put in. I must thank my TAFE NSW teachers, Skillset and Agriwest CRT for the support and opportunities they have provided me."
Students from Parkes, Orange, Gunnedah, Armidale, Bathurst, Lithgow and Dubbo shared the 13 awards that were presented at the ceremony.
