April 25, 2015, marks the 100th anniversary of Anzac and to commemorate, organisers want to hear the Last Post played out across Australia in cities, suburbs, towns and streets (and New Zealand if they can cross the ditch) so that Australian’s wake up this year hearing the Last Post, regardless if they are waking up in Randwick or Wagga.
To participate, anyone of any age and in any location who plays a trumpet/cornet or bugle needs only to walk out their front door, or onto their apartment balcony at dawn and play the Last Post.
The more adventurous may choose to play at the top of their street, the beach, in a paddock or any local high point to let the dawn breeze carry the sound.
Photos of where people intend on playing the Last Post can be posted onto the Facebook page, twitter account and hashtagged #diggerslastpost.
To commemorate the Anzac Centenary, organisers would like every Australian from the bush to the city to get involved in remembering our Anzacs by hearing the Last Post played at dawn.
Grab a trumpet and remember the Diggers.
Share with your friends and family and don’t forget to post your tribute on the day!
Lest we forget. #diggerslastpost
