They will now go on to represent Zone 4 in the State Finals to be played at Warilla later in the year.
This was a great effort by two quality Parkes junior bowlers.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
In a high quality Minor Singles quarter final, Greg Townsend played Peter McPhee.
Greg held an early 12-6 lead before Peter won the next two ends to level at 12-all.
The rest of the match saw them neck and neck with the lead not being greater than three shots.
The last 11 ends saw the score level on four occasions.
Peter scored two shots to lead 30-28.
The penultimate end saw Peter holding match only for Greg to play a match saving bowl to win the end and trail by just one shot.
On the last end Greg held three shots and match.
With his last bowl, Peter played a brilliant draw bowl to win the end and claim the match 31-29.
This was a match neither player deserved to lose.
Major Pairs action saw Col Mudie and John O’Malley play Dave Johnson and Graham Fliedner.
In a low scoring start to the match, Col and John held a narrow 8-6 lead after 10 ends.
Col and John, playing the more consistent bowls, won seven of the last nine ends to record a comprehensive 28-8 win.

Last Tuesday (April 15), saw 14 bowlers play in the Twilight Jackpot Bowls.
Two games of Pairs and one Triples were played.
Les Kent, Stuart Kelly and Steve Mills, after leading 12-6, hung on to defeat Bob Freeman, Guy Ellery and Kevin Hynds 14-13.
Tom Furey and Keith MacRae had a 13-8 win over Mick Horan and Mark Dwyer.
Geoff Leonard and Mike Phillips, after leading 13-2, held on to defeat John Dean and Garry Phillips 16-14.
Voucher winners were Les Kent, Garry Phillips, John Dean, Mark Dwyer and Guy Ellery.
The jackpot was not won and increased to $420.
New bowlers are welcome with players needing to have their names in by 5:30pm for a 6pm start.
20 bowlers played five games of Pairs on Thursday afternoon and big winning margins were seen in all games.
In the closest result Mick Blunt and Greig Ball defeated Garry Phillips and John Hodge 21-11.
Rob Irving and Warren Bevan held a handy 12-5 lead half way through their match and then won seven of the last nine ends to record a 26-8 win over Joe Crowley and Kevin Hynds.
Ray Jones and Phil Helies (Wyong) played Les Kent and John Ward.
In a low scoring start to the game Ray and Phil led 11-6 after 13 ends.
Ray and Phil then piled on the shots, winning seven of the last nine ends, to record a comfortable 28-8 win.
Ron Hornery and Mike Valentine played very consistent bowls to win 30-13 against Nev Whitfield and Arthur Corbett.
Alan Affleck and Geoff Freeman had a 39-9 win over the luckless pairing of Bob Freeman and John Carr.
Alan played excellent lead bowls and was clearly the player of the match.
The major prize winners were Ray Jones and Phil Helies and the minor winners were Rob Irving and Warren Bevan.
Saturday saw 22 bowlers on the green playing four games of Pairs and one Triples.
In the Triples game, Mick Blunt, Gordon Dickson and Keith MacRae won the last two ends to snatch a 23-22 win over Norm Keane, Bernie Mitchell and Dave Johnson.
Ray Jones and Greig Ball played Rob Irving and Phil Helies (Wyong).
Rob and Phil led 11-7 after 12 ends.
Ray and Greig then dominated the latter ends to run out comfortable winners 24-17.
Alan Affleck and Steve Turner won 22-16 in a hard fought match against Bob Freeman and Col Mudie.
In a grudge match arranged over a few drinks, Tony Byrne and Garry Went played Rhona Went and Liz Byrne.
Rhona and Liz got away to an 8-0 lead and looked like upstaging the boys.
Tony and Garry had other ideas and they dominated the next 13 ends, winning 10 of the ends, to lead 23-15.
Rhona and Liz won three of the last four ends but were unable to bridge the gap, going down 24-18 to give the boys the bragging rights.
In a low scoring match where the score was tied on five occasions, Ron Hornery and Geoff Freeman held off Noel Nicholson and Joe Crowley to record a narrow 17-15 win.
Mayor winners were Mick Blunt, Gordon Dickson and Keith MacRae and the minor winners were Ron Hornery and Geoff Freeman.
SUNDAY MORNING JACKPOT
Twelve bowlers graced the greens and played three games of Pairs.
Marianne and Tom Casey had a big 25-9 win over Karen Casey and Ted Wright.
Peter Cowling and Terry Hetherington played Dean Searl and Chris Dunn.
With the score 5all after eight ends it looked anyone’s game.
However Dean and Chris won seven of the last eight ends to record a 22-7 win.
Alan Affleck and Mick Blunt led Bob Freeman and Keith Hutchison 15-4 and then survived a fight back from Bob and Keith to run out winners 17-11.
Voucher winners were Keith Hutchison, Dean Searl, Terry Hetherington, Allan Affleck and Karen Casey.
The jackpot was not won and remains at $1000.
Come along on Sunday morning for a game of bowls, a sausage sandwich, and a chance to win the jackpot. Names in by 9:30am for a 10am start.
LEVEL TWO UMPIRES
Norm Keane and Geoff Freeman have been notified of their success in becoming Accredited Level 2 Umpires.
This means the club now has four Level 2 and 10 Level 1 umpires.
